Research activities

  • Surfaces and interfaces: kinetics of thin (some atomic layers) film dissolution into thick (semi-infinite) substrates; surface and grain-boundary segregation; interface motion of buried/internal interfaces; interfaces morphology;
  • Computer simulation/theory: kinetic mean filed and kinetic Monte Carlo; calculation of Auger spectra and x-ray/neutron diffraction patterns (grazing and high angle), x-ray standing wave filed; etc.,
  • Experimental techniques: AES, XPS, XRD, synchrotron and neutron facilities: (e.g. diffraction, absorption spectroscopy, standing wave technique, time of flight modes); radiotracer technique; magnetron sputtering
